JALANDHAR, MARCH 8 (News Hunt)- The second randomisation of counting staff held here today in presence of representatives of political parties where counting observers Dr Saroj Kumar, Bhupendra S Chaudhary, Mr Anil and Mr Anil Jose besides Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori were also present.
District Election Officer Ghanshyam Thori after second randomisation at DAC said that the first randomisation of counting staff was held on March 3 and after today’s second randomisation constituencies had been allotted to the counting officials. Each counting centre will have 21 counting parties (including reserved) and each counting party comprise one counting supervisor, one counting assistant and one micro observer so that the entire counting process could be done transparently and seamlessly. Two halls have been earmarked for each assembly segment for counting of votes, where 7 each (14 tables per constituency) counting tables will be placed.
The Deputy Commissioner also informed that elaborate arrangements had also been made for counting of electronically transmitted postal ballot paper system and postal ballot papers. He said counting tables would be allotted to staff after third randomisation. He reiterated that the entire counting process would be completed in transparent and smooth manner. The counting of votes for Shahkot, Nakodar and Jalandhar Central constituencies would be held in DLRS, State Patwar School and halls DLRS while counting of Adampur and Kartarpur, Jalandhar Cantt and Jalandhar West would take place in Sports College premises whereas votes of Jalandhar North and Phillaur would be counted at Meritorious School premises. He said all adequate arrangements had already been put in place including requisite training to staff, deployment of sufficient staff, security arrangements etc. ADC (G) Amarjit Bains, Election Tehsildar Sukhdev Singh, representatives of political parties were also present.
