JALANDHAR, FEBRUARY 2 (News Hunt)- Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori today visited polling personnel dispersal and polling parties collection centers set up at various locations to review the poll preparedness and working of returning officers for the forthcoming assembly elections in Jalandhar.
Giving directions to strict adherence of guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India while discharging duty, the DC asked all ROs to leave no stone unturned to ensure smooth conduct of election in all nine assembly constituencies in the district. He also visited different cells set up at the returning officers so as to ensure a free, fair and transparent poll process. He said that elaborate arrangements have been put in place from dispersal of poll parties to counting while following the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India.
During the visit, the DC visited Khalsa College for Women, Cantt Road, Government Arts and Sports College Kapurthala Road, Raizada Hansraj Stadium (Badminton Hall), Government Model Senior Secondary School Ladowali Road, Government College of Education Ladowali Road, KMV College Tanda Road, Government Senior Secondary School Phillaur, Guru Nanak National College Nakodar, and Government Senior Secondary School Shahkot, where polling personnel dispersal and polling party collection centers have been set up by the returning officers concerned. Meanwhile, the deputy commissioner also inspected the arrangements made for pre-poll strong rooms and issued necessary directions.
