Coronavirus India: India Reports 1,549 New COVID-19 Cases

India on Monday recorded 1,549 fresh coronavirus infections that took its tally to 4,30,09,390, while the active cases declined further to 25,106, according to Union health ministry data.
The death count climbed to 5,16,510 with 31 daily fatalities, the data updated at 8 am stated. The active cases comprise 0.06 per cent of the total infections. The national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.74 per cent, it showed.

A reduction of 1,134 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours. The daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.40 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate stood at 0.40 per cent, the ministry said.

EPFO payroll data: EPFO adds 15.29 lakh net subscribers during the month of January 2022

The provisional payroll data of EPFO has been released today, i.e., 20th March 2022, which highlights that EPFO has added 15.29 lakh net subscribers during January 2022. Month-on-month comparison of payroll data also indicates an increase of 2.69 lakh net subscribers addition in January 2022 as compared to the net additions during the previous month of December 2021.

Of the total 15.29 lakh, net subscribers added during the month, around 8.64 lakh new members have been registered under the social security ambit of EPF & MP Act, 1952 for the first time. Approximately 6.65 lakh net subscribers were excited but re-joined EPFO by continuing their membership with EPFO instead of opting for final withdrawal. The payroll data also reflects a declining trend in the number of members exited since July 2021.

Age-wise comparison of payroll data shows that the age group of 18-25 years has registered the highest number of net enrolments with 6.90 lakh additions during January 2022, which is around 45.11% of total net subscribers added during the month. This is followed by the age group of 29-35 years with a healthy addition of around 3.23 lakh net enrolments. This indicates that many first-time job seekers are joining the organised sector workforce in large numbers and signifies a crucial stage for an individual’s potential in terms of earning capacity.

State-wise comparison of payroll figures highlights that the establishments covered in the states of Maharashtra, Haryana, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka are in lead by adding approximately 9.33 lakh subscribers during the month, which is around 61% of total net payroll addition across all age groups.

Gender-wise analysis indicates that net female payroll addition during the month is approximately 3.20 lakh during the month. The share of female enrolment is approximately 21% of the total net subscriber’s addition during the month of January 2022 with an increase of 57,722 net enrolments over the previous month of December 2021.

Industry-wise payroll data indicates that the ‘expert services’ category (consisting of manpower agencies, private security agencies and small contractors etc.) constitutes 39.95% of total subscriber addition during the month. In addition, the growing trend in net payroll additions has been noted in industries like expert Services, Engineering Contractors, Trading (Commercial Establishments) and Building & Construction industry etc.

The payroll data is provisional since the data generation is a continuous exercise, as the updation of employee records is a continuous process. The previous data hence gets updated every month. From the month of April-2018, EPFO has been releasing payroll data covering the period September 2017 onwards.

EPFO is committed to extending social security benefits in the form of Provident, Pension and Insurance Funds to the organized workforce of the country covered under the aegis of Employees’ Provident Funds & Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952. PM Gati Shakti-National Master Plan for Steel Sector

The ‘Make in India’ initiative of the Government of India ensures that domestically manufactured steel and steel products are utilized in the country. The Government has notified Domestically Manufactured Iron and Steel Products (DMI&SP) Policy on 8th May 2017 and subsequently revised on 29th May 2019 and 31st December 2020. This has resulted in the growth of the domestic steel sector by import substitution of around INR 22,400 crore so far.

The PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan is Rs.100 lakh crore investment plan for infrastructure development over the next five years. The various initiatives for infrastructure development under the plan will boost the demand for steel in various sectors thereby enhancing steel usage and growth of the steel sector. These initiatives, being undertaken by Central Government, have a development impact across the country including the State of Karnataka.

NAV BHARAT LITERACY PROGRAMME

The Union of India has approved a Centrally Sponsored Scheme, namely, “New India Literacy Programme (NILP)” with the aim to support the States and Union Territories in promoting literacy among non-literates in the age group of 15 and above, across the country covering 5 crore non-literates during the implementation period from 2022-23 to 2026-27.

The scheme has been approved with a financial outlay of Rs.1037.90 crore including a Central share of Rs.700.00 crore and a State share of Rs.337.90 crore. The scheme has five components namely, Foundational Literacy and Numeracy, Critical Life Skills, Vocational Skills Development, Basic Education and Continuing Education.

The salient features of the NILP are (i) involvement of school students, pre-service students of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), school teachers, Anganwadi and ASHA workers, NYKS, NSS, NCC volunteers, (ii) school to be unit for implementation of the scheme (iii) use of ICT and online implementation of the scheme through ‘Online Teaching Learning and Assessment System’ (OTLAS) (iv) material and resources through digital modes, viz, TV, radio, cell phone-based free/open-source Apps/portals, etc. (v)

Assessment tests to be conducted in schools by State/UTs and evaluation of learners by NIOS/SIOS; assessment on demand through OTLAS and generation of e-certificates, (vi) Sample achievement survey and (vii) Online MIS.

The information was given by the Minister of State for Education, Smt. Annpurna Devi in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today.

आम आदमी पार्टी कि सरकार पंजाब में आते ही बेअदबी के मामलों में हो रही बढ़ौतरी : अविनाश राय खन्ना

होशियारपुर 20 मार्च (न्यूज़ हंट)- भाजपा हिमाचल प्रदेश प्रभारी व पंजाब के पूर्व राज्यसभा सांसद अविनाश राय खन्ना ने कहा की आम आदमी पार्टी की सरकार पंजाब में आते ही बेअदबी के मामलों में बढ़ौतरी हो रही है। खन्ना ने कहा कि पहले टांडा में गौवंशों की हत्या होना और अब गढशंकर के गांव पदराणा में भगवान शंकर की प्रतिमा को खंडित करना तथा बाबा बालक नाथ मंदिर बडेसरों से बाबा बालक नाथ की प्रतिमा का चोरी हो जाना इस बात की ओर इशारा करता है की आम आदमी पार्टी की सरकार के राज में कहीं न कहीं धर्म विरोधी तत्वों को ताकत मिल रही है।

उपरोक्त विचार खन्ना ने गढ़शंकर के गांव बडेसरों में बाबा बालक नाथ मंदिर तथा गांव पदराणा की शिवपुरी में सवयं जाकर इन बेअदबी के मामलों संबंधी वहां के निवासियों से जानकारी हासिल करते हुए व्यक्त किए। इस मौके खन्ना ने कहा कि यदि आम आदमी पार्टी की सरकार ने जल्द ऐसी घटनाओं को अंजाम देने वाले धर्म विरोधी तत्व की तलाश कर उन पर कार्रवाई ना की तो आने वाले समय में पंजाब में गंभीर हालात पैदा हो सकते हैं। जिसकी जिम्मेदार आम आदमी पार्टी की भगवंत मान सरकार की होगी। खन्ना ने पंजाब सरकार से अपील की कि इन समाज विरोधी तत्व के खिलाफ जल्द से जल्द कारवाई की जाए ताकि पंजाब में अराजकता का माहौल ना पैदा हो सके। इस मौके पर अश्वनी कुमार, सोमराज, कपिल मुनि, नरेश कुमार, रमन कुमार, राजेश कुमार, सुखदेव सिंह, दीपा, अनिल कुमार, संजीव कुमार बॉबी, विक्की, करण, कुलविंदर सिंह आदि भी उपस्थित थे।
