JALANDHAR, JANUARY 5 (News Hunt)- Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori has appealed the people to remain fully vigilant in the wake of rising COVID cases besides ensuring meticulous adherence to social distancing, wearing masks properly and time to time sanitization of hands.

After inaugurating the expanded dialysis unit at local NHS Hospital, the Deputy Commissioner said that it is high time to follow COVID appropriate behavior in larger public interests so that the virus could not spread further. The vaccination drive is undergoing at different locations and those beneficiaries, who had not been yet got themselves vaccinated with second dose, should take the jab as early as possible. The Deputy Commissioner stated that the vaccination for youngsters between the age group of 15 to 18 years is also in progress while the booster dose would be administered to all eligible beneficiaries from January 10.

After inaugurating the expanded dialysis unit, the Deputy Commissioner in his discussion with the hospital authorities also motivated them and asked to be prepared for tackling the rising COVID cases in the district.

JALANDHAR, JANUARY 5 (News Hunt)- In the wake of forthcoming Vidhan Sabha polls, the Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Ghanshyam Thori on Wednesday directed the District Nodal Officers/Assistant Nodal Officers that all arrangements, preparedness and mechanism should be put in place well in time to ensure smooth conduct of elections.
Reviewing the ongoing preparedness with all concerned officers here at District Administrative Complex, Ghanshyam Thori said that various activities are to be undertaken across the district in coming days so that all teams should be prepared as per the directions of the Election Commission of India with strict monitoring and implementation of all procedures.
The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the structure and functioning of different committee besides giving requisite directions to ensure smoothness and effectiveness in the conduct of elections. He pointed out that the Manpower Management committee to assess the entire requirement of manpower in the district to conduct the elections. The EVM Management committee will ensure proper storage, security, availability and checking of EVMs including overall monitoring. Similarly, the nodal officer for implementing model code of conduct, once the MCC come to effect, will ensure that all instructions of the ECI to be followed in letter and spirit. Likewise, the nodal officer for law & order, vulnerability mapping and security development plan will ensure daily law and order report besides ensuring coordination with the district police for requisite arrangements. The media certification and monitoring committee will disseminate information, instructions to be issued time to time, briefs, press notes etc for the information of general masses.
Besides taking stock of other preparedness, the Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the transport management, training management, material management, expenditure monitoring, SVEEP activities, ballot papers, facilities being ensured for persons with disabilities (PWDs), helpline & complaints redressal, special awareness and arrangements in view of surge in COVID cases etc.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner (D) Jaspreet Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Amarjit Bains, Additional Deputy Commissioner (UD) Himanshu Jain and others were also present.

जालंधर, 3 जनवरी (न्यूज़ हंट)- पंजाब राज्य महिला कमिशन की चेयरपर्सन श्रीमती मनीषा गुलाटी ने आज शहर की दो महिला फूड हाकर्स के साथ मुलाकात की, जो अपने परिवारों का पेट पालन के लिए फूड स्टाल चला रही है।
मनीषा गुलाटी ने गोपाल नगर जालंधर की 30 वर्षीय महिला नेहा के साथ मुलाकात की, जो कोविड -19 महामारी दौरान नौकरी चली जाने के बाद पिछले कई महीनों से इस फूड स्टाल को चला रही है। चेयरपर्सन ने उसका फूड स्टाल देखा और उसे कमिशन की तरफ से प्रशंसा पत्र सौंपा। उन्होंने उसकी 15 वर्षीय बेटी के लिए बढ़िया शिक्षा को यकीनी बनाने के सम्बन्ध में कमिशन की तरफ से हर संभव मदद का भरोसा दिलाया और प्रशासन को शहर में पक्का बूथ अलाट कर उसकी मदद करने के लिए भी कहा। उन्होंने निराशाजनक समय में भी उम्मीद न हारने के लिए महिला के प्रयत्नों की प्रशंसा की।
इस दौरान उन्होंने प्रताप नगर निवासी 33 वर्षीय कांता के साथ भी मुलाकात की, जोकि बस स्टैंड के नज़दीक एक छोटी सी खाने -पीने के समान की दुकान चला रही है। महिला ने चेयरपर्सन को बताया कि कोविड -19 महामारी कारण अपनी नौकरी गवाने से पहले वह बाइक -टैक्सी राइडर के तौर पर काम कर रही थी। अब कुछ स्थानीय महिलाओं की मदद से अपने परिवार का पेट भरने के लिए वह परांठा स्टाल चला रही है। मनीषा गुलाटी ने उसे प्रशंसा पत्र सौंपते हुए कमिशन की तरफ से पूरा सहयोग देने का भरोसा दिलाया। इस दौरान उन्होंने कांता के साथ उसके दोपहिया वाहन पर सवारी भी की, जिसे वह पहले बाइक -टैक्सी राईड के तौर पर इस्तेमाल करती थी।
मनीषा गुलाटी ने समाज सेवी लोगों को भी अपील करते हुए कहा कि वह इन दोनों महिलाओं को आने वाली मुशकिलों से छुटकारा दिलाने के लिए मदद करने के लिए आगे आए। उन्होंने कहा कि कमिशन की तरफ से जल्दी ही ज़िला प्रशासन को इन महिलाओं को सहायता प्रदान करने के लिए पत्र लिखा जाएगा।
